Enharmonic Equivalent is an entirely homemade group of students enthusiastic about music, and jazz in particular. They work hard setting a foundation for themselves and making a home in the Houston Jazz scene. What’s most important to them is developing their signature.
Formed in the Christmas season of ’05, Sam Phillips, on Bari Sax, recruited Adrian Jones on bass, Andrew Sneed on drums, and Evan Burrus on Piano, each from Johnston Middle School and the Summer Jazz Workshop. Together they played small gigs around town and explored the town as jazz musicians. Everything was done by the band members themselves; the website, recordings, sound, and business.
The members of Enharmonic Equivalent are always working hard to get themselves up on stage, improving their sound, and exposing themselves to what life as a professional is like. The band represents the future of jazz and music in general.
